2. Introduction.................................................................
────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
As we thought that there were no other good sound quality and nice GUI
player around today so we decided to make our own, Noise was born!
At the beginning we made it in real mode, but thought - why not go all
the way. So here it is. A Protected Mode player called Noise totally
written in pure Assembler for the best performance.
We sure hope that Noise and all its features will suit you as well as it
suits us! After all, that's why we made it!
────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
3. Hardware and Software requirements...........................................
────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
Hardware:
■ A 386 computer or higher.
■ At least 2Mb of memory.
■ A register compatible VGA graphics card.
Software:
■ MS or PC DOS v4.0 or higher.
■ A XMS driver, such as Himem.
■ At least 445kb of free conventional memory for Noise.
■ As much XMS memory that the size of the module will fit
or if using the Gravis Ultrasound, enough on-board memory.
Additional hardware:
■ SpeechThing/DAC on LPT1 or LPT2
■ SoundBlaster 1.5
■ SoundBlaster Pro
■ Pro Audio Spectrum
■ Gravis UltraSound
■ A Good Hi-Fi Stereo
Additional information:
■ No software EMS handler such as QEMM, EMM386, 386^MAX, CEMM are
supported in this version.
■ Any kind of diskcache programs will work with Noise.
■ UMB drivers will work with Noise.
■ Noise will run slower on a 386SX due to the fact that the memorybus
is just 16bit wide. However, we'll try to optimize so that it will
work faster on a SX machine later on.
────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────

8. Imphobia/Cascada.............................................................
────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
After lots of chatting at the Party III and some minor collaboration in
the past, we decided to team up with Imphobia in order of being able to
continue making demos in spite of the fact that our adventures in the
world of Virtual Reality continues. Together we will see to that along
with the Imphobia diskmagazine, various releases will hit the bulletin
boards in the year of 1994.
We invite you all to fill in the Imphobia 8 voting charts if you haven't
had time for that yet. Voting can also be done on our bulletin boards.
Imphobia Cascada members:
■ Darkness ■ Wizard ■ Nic
■ Zodiak ■ Delsion ■ Pl
■ O'Hara ■ Doom ■ Numerus
■ Jeffe ■ Arpegiator ■ Sam
■ Black Lion
Cascada Virtual Reality Section:

Here follows the full up-to-date Imphobia Cascada BBS Site listing.
When the two groups merged, Darkness (who is the most frequent BBS
caller of IMP/CDA) got the hard work of compiling a new site list.
As Cascada and Imphobia had different sites in the same country and
having several sites in a small area would be a silly idea, Darkness
could only keep the board in every country which he thought was the
most suitable, with exceptions for a few Imphobia Diskmagazine major
distribution sites. There are no boards which cover only Cascada
or Imphobia.
